What it means

SYSIDERR means the request should go to another region or system but CICS could not send it. The SYSID may be unknown, the link may be closed, or no session could be allocated.

RESP2 gives the detail; on LINK it ranges from 'SYSID not defined' to 'no sessions available'.

Typical causes

  • The SYSID is not defined in the region.
  • The connection to the remote region is closed or out of service.
  • No sessions are free and the request was not queued.
  • The remote system does not support what was asked.

How to fix it

  1. Capture RESP2 and look it up for the failing command.
  2. Check the connection status (for example with CEMT INQUIRE CONNECTION).
  3. Ask the system programmer to check session limits and the remote region.
  4. Code RESP (and RESP2) on the command and test the value with DFHRESP.
