What it means
MQ could not get the memory it needed for this call. The shortage can be in the queue manager or in the application's own address space.
Typical causes
- A program is looping and using up memory.
- The queue manager's region is too small for its workload.
- On z/OS, the application address space has used all of its storage.
- Very large messages or many handles need more memory than planned.
How to fix it
- Check running programs for loops or leaks.
- On z/OS, check the job's region size and ask the system programmer to raise the queue manager's region if needed.
- On distributed, check system memory and process limits.
- Retry once storage is freed, and add monitoring for memory use.
