What it means
The queue manager is ending. A waiting MQGET is cancelled. For clients, the failed call may still have completed on the server. On z/OS, timing can mean the program gets 2009 instead if the stop finishes first.
Typical causes
- The queue manager is being stopped, normally or immediately.
- Planned maintenance or a failover.
- An operator ended the queue manager after a quiesce took too long.
How to fix it
- Clean up and end the program.
- If an external coordinator manages the unit of work, call its back-out function; MQ-managed units of work are backed out for you.
- For clients, check whether the last call actually completed before resending.
- Reconnect once the queue manager is running again.
