What it means
The SQL statement or command needs a resource at the server that is not available right now. The message gives a reason code, resource type and name, the product ID of the server (for example DSN12015 for Db2 12 at function level 500 or later), and the RDB name of the server.
Db2 cannot process the statement and disconnects the local Db2 from the remote server.
Typical causes
- A resource limit or shortage at the remote server.
- The remote server is stopping or not fully available.
- A network or distributed data facility (DDF) problem at the server.
How to fix it
- Read the reason code, resource type and resource name in the message.
- Use the RDBNAME to identify the server, then check its console and SYSLOG around the failure time.
- Look up the reason code in the Db2 reason codes documentation.
- Reconnect and retry once the resource is available.
