What it means
During bind Db2 found that the owner of the package lacked a privilege needed by one statement, or that the object does not exist, or that the statement tries to change a read-only view. The package is still created and the statement is bound each time it runs.
If the privilege is still missing at run time the statement fails, so this warning usually means a GRANT is missing. With a trusted context the ID may be shown as a role (ROLE: role-name).
Typical causes
- The package owner has not been granted SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE on a table.
- The table or view does not exist on this subsystem.
- UPDATE, INSERT or MERGE against a read-only view.
- Creating an object with a schema other than your own ID without SYSADM, DBADM or DBCTRL.
How to fix it
- Note the authorization ID, the operation and the object named in the message.
- Ask the security administrator to grant the missing privilege to the package owner (or role).
- Check that the object exists and is not a read-only view.
- Rebind the package after the fix.
