What it means
The network worked, but setting up the channel did not. The two ends could not agree on channel attributes, a configuration file is in error, or the server cannot handle the client's code page.
Typical causes
- Client and server channel attributes do not match.
- Errors in qm.ini on the server or mqclient.ini on the client.
- The server does not support the client's code page (CCSID).
- The client uses an old CCDT that no longer matches the server channel.
How to fix it
- Check the queue manager and client error logs for the detailed message.
- Compare the client channel definition with the SVRCONN channel on the queue manager.
- Check qm.ini and mqclient.ini for typing errors.
- Check the client's CCSID is one the server supports.
